Questions from the reef.

Getting connected

Which port should I use? +
It depends on your hashrate — small CPU rigs should start on 3101 (vardiff, auto-adjusting), while larger setups can move to a higher fixed or vardiff port to keep share frequency reasonable. Full breakdown on the Getting Started page.
What miner software do you recommend? +
XMRig is the standard choice for RandomX and works well for CPU mining ETI. The Getting Started guide walks through installing it and pointing it at the pool.
How long before I show up in the miner census? +
Usually within a couple of minutes of your first accepted share. The census refreshes every 30 seconds, so give it a moment and search for your wallet address on the homepage.
Do I need a worker name? +
No, it's optional. Adding one — like YOUR_ADDRESS.rig1 — just makes it easier to tell your machines apart if you're running more than one.

Payouts

How do payouts work? +
The pool accumulates your earnings and sends them once your balance crosses your minimum payout threshold, batching everything into a single transaction to save on gas.
Can I change my minimum payout amount? +
Yes — log in on the Account page with the wallet address you mine with, and set a custom threshold within the pool's allowed range. Lower means more frequent, smaller payments; higher means fewer transactions.
Do I need an email to create an account? +
No. Accounts are tied to your wallet address and a password you choose — nothing else required.

About the pool

Is XdagReef affiliated with the Etica core team? +
No. XdagReef is an independent mining pool for Etica (ETI) and isn't run by the Etica core team. For protocol-level information, visit the official Etica Protocol site.
What algorithm does Etica use? +
Etica (ETI) uses RandomX, the same CPU-friendly proof-of-work algorithm used by several other privacy and CPU-mineable coins.
